Did you know that women make up only 37% of enrolments in Australian university STEM courses, and only 15% of STEM-qualified jobs in Australia are held by women? The purpose of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science is to achieve full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls. STEM skills are crucial to the success of Australia’s economy. Encouraging women and girls to consider a career in STEM is one of the ways that we can build a skilled workforce.
