Close the Gap Day & Harmony Day

National Close the Gap Day advocates for health equity of Australia's indigenous people and educating the public about the health issues and barriers to well-being faced by them. On average, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples die more than 10 years younger than other Australians. Today marks 18 years since it was first pledged to achieve Indigenous health equality by 2030. You can sign up and join the campaign here https://closethegap.org.au/join-the-campaign/

Harmony Week, which began on Monday, is the celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds. Today is the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. To show your support, encourage your staff to wear their traditional clothing. Others may simply choose to wear orange, the official colour of Harmony Day. Whatever you choose, today is all about celebrating the diversity of backgrounds, languages, and beliefs that reflect the our community. Share your celebrations using #HarmonyWeek and #HarmonyDay.
